The Stoke Gifford first team had an excellent 6-1 win against Avonmouth.
Luke Bartley made a remarkable return after his midweek relegation to the Thirds with two goals, Morph Meaney with a 30 yard thunderbolt and a Paddon hat trick in the last 20 minutes having spent the previous 70 at right back saw the village cruise home.
The stiffs had a great 7-0 win against Avonmouth reserves with goals from Mad Mike (2), Naked Nathan and Ian Simple. To date we have not been informed of the other three scorers.
Predictably, the thirds, boosted by the absence of Jordan Russell but handicapped by the presence of portly student Nigel Johnson, crashed 5-1 at Lockleaze although Bennett justified the humiliation by explaining that they drew the second half 1-1.
Player of the weekend – Ben Bennett.
