The firsts beat Gordano Valley last week thanks to a splendid 89 from Dan ‘Five Bellies’ Dunt, ably supported by his father John who clubbed a half decent 40-something.

The seconds were not quite so competitive at YMCA’s fourth team.
The home side batted first and scored an emphatic 283-8, the highlight of which was when the umpire asked Semple what he was going to bowl.  “The ball!” replied the slow-witted villager.
An inexperienced village side came within an ace of winning, falling just 180 runs short.
Elderly villager Mark ‘Cleft Foot’ Stephens twanged a calf muscle when ambling in to bowl and had to be assisted from the field (but not to the bar later on, when it transpired he managed to regain some ability to move).
Man of the match was, as ever, exciting young prospect Calum ‘Call me Calum’ Meaney-May with an interesting display in the field and two runs.
