Welcome my friends to the show that never ends. Yes, it’s time for the Friday music shuffle, where my musical device churns out ten random tunes from my collection and I tell you what they are.
The sun is shining, I’m here in my man cave; let’s rock!
- Black Friday by Steely Dan. 1993 live version of this belter from 1975’s Katy Lied.
- Somewhere Short of Nashville by Bruce Springsteen. The Boss on top form from his 2019 Western Stars long player.
- Trouble No More by the Allman Brothers Band. Muddy Waters classic, featuring the late, great Duane Allman on lead guitar from 1972’s Eat A Peach.
- The Overdraft by Warren Zevon. From his 1982 record, The Envoy, this one features, among others, Lindsey Buckingham and the legendary Toto drummer Jeff Porcaro.
- Where Are You? by Bob Dylan. This one comes from His Royal Bobness’s 2015 album of covers Shadows In The Night and it’s even older than the great man himself. All these songs were previously sung by Frank Sinatra.
- I’m Ready For Love by Martha and the Vandellas. Not the most well know MATV tune but still gorgeous Motown.
- Never A Low by Gengahr. Quality indie rock by the classy Londoners, taken from their 2020 long player Sanctuary. Buy this record.
- Open The Door by Michael McDonald. The greatest blue-eye of them all with a brilliant song from the Blue Obsession album.
- May You Never by John Martyn. John Martyn. Solid Air. Perfect.
- My Old Piano by Diana Ross. The Queen of Motown. Brilliant.
That’s all, folks!
