Would you Adam and Eve it? It’s Friday already, I think. And it’s time for the Friday music shuffle.
10 songs chosen from my collection and I tell you what they are. By all means sing along by clicking on the title.
So, let’s rock!
- Who’ll Stop The Rain by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Classic John Fogerty tune from 1970’s Cosmo’s Factory.
- Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!. Although I’m not a fan of George Michael’s solo stuff, I adored Wham! And this is a great pop song.
- Puesta Del Sol by Lenny Ibizarre. I know nothing about the artist but this is a lush tune from one of my Chilled Ibiza compilations.
- Stop Stop Stop by The Hollies. Back to 1966 for this one which features Graham Nash, who co-wrote it, but doesn’t appear in the video.
- Uneventful Days by Beck. Brilliant, from 2019’s Hyperspace.
- The Battle of the Beaconsfield Miners by Foo Fighters. From 2007’s Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, the only Foos album I have. A lovely acoustic instrumental and a fine tribute to those who died.
- I Wanna Be Free by The Monkees. Nice bit of slush from the boys’s 1966 debut album, The Monkees.
- Things I Miss The Most by Steely Dan. So cool from my favourite band of all time, from their final album, 2003’s Everything Must Go.
- My Kinda Girl by Chickenfoot. Sammy Hagar’s supergroup with a tune from their eponymous debut album from 2009.
- Sandpaper Blues by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros. Superb stuff from Strummer’s 1999 (!) debut album Rock Art and the X-Ray Style.
I think that’s quite a shuffle, but I would say that, wouldn’t I?
That’s all, folks!
