Good grief: it’s Friday. I’d all but lost track of the calendar in the post Christmas fog. It could have been any day. Still, enough waffle. It’s time to allow my music machine to play ten top tunes in random order and for me to tell you what they are.
Let’s rock!
In My Time of Dying by Led Zeppelin. Classic Zep from their amazing live album Celebration Day.
Song With No Words by Crosby and Nash. No words but some lovely harmonies.
Heroes by David Bowie. Lots of words here but few necessary from me.
Four Out Of Five by the Arctic Monkeys. Simply magnificent from their Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino long player.
You Gave Up On Love (2.0) by Boston. Life, Love and Hope is truly a great record and unmistakably Boston. And this is excellent.
That Ain’t Right by Fun Lovin’ Criminals. Classic Huey and the chaps from Living’ In The City.
Hi Hi Hi by Paul McCartney and Wings. Pure rock and roll from Macca.
Gypsy Queen/Black Magic Woman (Live) by Santana. Many consider Abraxas to be Santana’s finest record. Me too. This is a bonus live version on the 1998 issue of the album.
Woman by John Lennon. Brilliant.
You’re Running Wild by Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell. Quite beautiful from Em’s perfect Elite Hotel record.
