It’s Friday again and of course it’s time to play some tunes from my portable telephone device in random order. Then, I tell you what they are and something dull about them. Well, it’s my blog and I’ll bore my loyal reader if I want to.
Let’s get this Stow-On-The-Wold and rock!
Heartbreaker by Grand Funk Railroad. Britain never really got Grand Funk, but I did and this bluesy number is from their…gulp…1969 album On Time.
Busted Down Around O’Connelly Corners (Live) by the Doobie Brothers. Glorious instrumental from their 2018 live album Live at the Beacon.
Galactica (Jimpster Remix) by Tam Cooper. Some lush electronica here.
Jackson by Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra. Classic 1960s country from Lee and Nancy.
Love Runs Deeper by Lindsay Buckingham. If, like me, you think the Buckingham version of Fleetwood Mac is the only version that really matters, then you will love this tune from his Gift of Screws album.
Girl Goodbye by Toto. From their first album, imaginatively entitled Toto, this David Paich rocker actually rocks, not least thanks to a killer riff by Steve Lukather.
Crying Lightning by the Arctic Monkeys. The third track and first single from their excellent third album Humbug, which remarkably came out almost exactly ten years ago. Wonderful.
RU Sleeping (Bump & Flex remix) by India. Old school dance. Lush.
VI Lua VI Sol by Kamasi Washington. Truly wonderful from the sax-playing genius from his 2018 album Heaven and Earth.
Lava by Air. From their 2012 album Le Voyage Dans La Lune, the French boys give us some dreamy electronica.
