If it wasn’t bad enough having my own Music Shuffle on a Friday, how about one from Mrs Eclectic Blue, the fragrant Catherine.
Yes, peel back yer luggoles and listen to her random music shuffle.
Welcome back, again, my friends to the show that never ends (and probably feels like it will never end).
Without Me by Eminem. The one and only Marshall Mathers with an actual classic. Seriously, it is.
The Only Star In Heaven by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. From their seminal Welcome to the Pleasuredome long player. They made some great tunes.
Rhythm (Devoted to the art of Moving Butts) by A Tribe Called Quest. People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest Hip Hop records of all time. Simply the best actually.
Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. Title track of, well you obviously know. Greatness.
In the Midnight Hour by the Jam. Okay cover of the Wilson Pickett classic, although I can’t see the point myself.
The Things That Dreams Are Made Of by The Human League. From their greatest album Dare.
Who Cares by Paul McCartney. Astonishing return to form for Macca in his excellent Egypt Station long player.
Nowhere is Home by Dexys. More recent Dexys from their One Day I’m Going To Soar album. Dead good.
Liegaste Tarde by Los Amigos Invisibles. The greatest thing to have come out of Venezuela, this from their greatest album Arepa 3000: A Venezuelan Journey Into Space. Utterly essential to any collection.
William’s Blood by Grace Jones. The one and only Ms Jones from her 2008 record Hurricane. Stellar rhythm section on here, starring Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare.
