Did someone say it’s Friday and why haven’t I seen the little-awaited Music Shuffle, played by a vintage, obsolete iPod through a bank of Marshall speakers? I thought not. Nevertheless, it’s here. Yes, that unexciting (for you) time of the week when the iPod does it’s own thang and I waste your time by sharing it.
Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends!
1. To Sir With Love by Lulu. I’d forgotten what a great voice our Lu had (has). Great movie, too.
2. The Good Life by Tony Bennett. Brilliant.
3. One Breath At a Time by Little Feat. From their most recent record Rooster Rag. Lowell George it ain’t but still tidy enough.
4. Giles of the River by John Kay. The Steppenwolf man with a Becker/Fagen (Steely Dan) written tune from his 1973 album My Sportin’ Life. Absolutely love it.
5. Oxford Comma by Vampire Weekend. Marmite these lads. Luckily, I love Marmite.
6. Love Got Away by Boston. From their long player Love, Life and Hope, they prove once more that they is more to them than More Than A Feeling.
7. Echizo by Santana. Carlos got the original band together for Santana IV a couple of years ago and he’s still brilliant.
8. Stay by Jackson Browne. You all know this!
9. Hold Your Colour by Pendulum. Mint.
10. Madagascar by Guns N Roses. From the utterly bizarre Chinese Democracy record. All right, though.
That’s all, folks!
