It’s May, but it feels like we’re still in February. Anyway, here’s some music to warm you all up. Yes, it’s that time of the week: 10 tunes chosen at random by my device , I tell you what comes up and you can listen by clicking on the title. Simples.
So, let’s rock!
- Down Below The Borderline by Little Feat. From the band’s 1975 The Last Record Album, here’s the great Lowell George and the boys.
- Swing 42 by Le Quientette Du Hot Club De France. From the 1940s, enjoy Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Pure magic.
- Depreston by Courtney Barnett. From Courtney’s brilliant 2015 debut record Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit.
- Unforgettable by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole. Clever duet of the old boy’s classic, with daughter Natalie joining in.
- The World Is Not Enough by Garbage. Decent Bond tune from the American popular beat combo outfit.
- Out On The Weekend by Neil Young. From 1972’s Harvest, this is one of my favourite Neil tunes.
- Put ‘Em High (Claes Rosen Mix) Stonebridge ft Therese. Some lush chill out House.
- Wildflower by The Avalanches. Title track of their great 2016 album.
- I Want It Free by Kongos. The four sons of 1970s legend from their 2016 Egomaniac album. It’s patchy but this tune is good.
- The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight by The Dominatrix. Absolutely magnificent synthpop. I played this single to death when I bought it in 1984 but sadly no one else did and they soon dissolved. Such an earworm, too.
That’s all, folks.
