Yes, it’s that exciting time of the week when my musical device chooses ten tracks from my collection and I tell you what they are. If you click on the track, you can sing along!
Let’s rock!
- Clouds by Prince. From 2014’s Art Official Age, this is a cracking start.
- Talking With Myself by Electribe 101. 31 year old House and it’s mint.
- I Took Your Name by REM. A storming return to good rocking form by the Athens, Georgia chaps’ 1994’s Monster.
- Love Gun by Cee Lo Green feat Lauren Bennett. From 2010’s The Lady Killer, Mr Green opens up those mighty tonsils.
- Hold Yourself by Tune-Yards. Brilliant 2021 indie pop from the album Sketchy.
- Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. She really is. Class.
- Cars In Space by Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. From 2020’s wonderful Sideways to New Italy record. Essential.
- The Rivington by Free Nationals feat Conway, Westside Gunn and Joyce Rice. Much more than Anderson .Paak’s backing band, this one is from their 2019 album Free Nationals.
- Soolaimon by Neil Diamond. 1970’s Taproot Manuscript surely represents Diamond’s creative peak, side two of which is called ‘An African Trilogy’. This is from said Trilogy.
- Skill Of The Man by the Bees. From Every Step’s A Yes it’s great. Why they never made it, I’ll never know.
That’s all, folks.
