When it’s spring again, I’ll bring again – oh wait, no wonder under the age of 90 will know where these words come from. Let’s forget it. Instead, let’s have another music shuffle. 10 tunes from my collection, chosen at random by my portable device. That’s just the start. If you want to sing along, then just click on the song title and you can.
So, let’s rock!
- Sorry by Gun N’ Roses. There are some decent tracks on 2008’s Chinese Democracy and this is, just about, one of them.
- “Myxomatosis.” (“Judge, Jury & Executioner”) by Radiohead. Jesus H Corbett: this is from the brilliant Hail To The Thief released in – I know, I know – 2003. I thought it was only last week or something.
- Dust In The Wind by Kansas. And this is from 1978’s Point of Know return. More folky than prog but I still love them.
- Disco Peanuts by Warmduscher. The magnificent London-based band, this is from their 2019 long player Tainted Lunch. Proper earworm, mental video.
- Night Bird by Deep Forest. Their 1992 album World Mix is essential. And this is gorgeous.
- The Man In Me by Bob Dylan. This is from Dylan’s 1970 LP New Morning and was covered by The Clash on their London Calling sessions.
- The Devil and Mr Jones by Spoon. I’ve only had Spoon’s new album, Lucifer On The Sofa, for a matter of weeks and it’s already my favourite of their albums. Here’s why.
- Tent by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band. Bonkers.
- World by The Bee Gees. 1967 from those Gibb lads. Not sure it’s legal to like them but who cares? I love them.
- Music For Money by Nick Lowe. Really, this should be by The Great Nick Lowe. 1978’s Jesus of Cool was a good album title for this genius of a singer/songwriter.
That’s all, folks!
