Good day to one and all and welcome to the Friday Music Shuffle. Ten songs from my collection, chosen at random by my musical device, I tell you what they are and should you wish to listen and even sing along, then just click on the title.
On the second day of official winter, let’s rock!
- Pursuit on 53rd Street by the Doobie Brothers. Classic Doobie sound from 1974’s What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits. Ain’t that the truth?
- Lula by Phil Mison. The picture in the video says it all. Let it wash all over you. So chilled.
- I’ll Be Back Upon My Feet by The Monkees. Some filler from 1968’s The Birds, The Bees & The Monkees.
- No Scrubs by TLC. R&B? Hip Hop? Both? Who cares? It’s a banger.
- Imagine by John Lennon. Genius.
- Don’t Just Do Something by Spiritualised. Brilliant from 2001’s Let It Come Down.
- Catch The Wind by Donovan. Dylanesque tune from the Scottish singer songwriter. Very nice.
- Disco Strangler by The Eagles. Filler from 1979’s The Long Run.
- Busy Being Fabulous by The Eagles. More Eagles filler from 2007’s Long Road Out Of Eden, which was full of it.
- Run by Sash feat Boy George. Back 20 years to this belter, IMHO a later career highlight for the Culture Club chap.
This week’s Desert Island Disc can only be the exciting number five tune, Imagine by John Lennon.
That’s all, folks!
