It’s time for the Friday Music Shuffle. Ten tunes played at random by my music machine, I tell you what they are and if you want to listen along, just click the title.
Without further ado, let’s rock!
- Brother by Real Estate. Some lovely instrumental jingle-jangle rock from their 2020 long player The Main Thing.
- Missing U by Robyn. Lush dance pop from the talented Swede, from her excellent 2018 record Honey.
- Touch Me In The Morning by Diana Ross. Okay, if I must. Motown classic.
- With Or Without You by Keane. Much better than you might think and a very interesting take on a U2 ‘classic’.
- What Do You Want The Girl To Do by Boz Scaggs. Great track from his 1976 album Silk Degrees, a record everyone should own!
- Act Of Love by Neil Young. Here’s Neil with a track from his grungy (it was recorded in Seattle) 1996 album Mirrorball, which featured his new backing band Pearl Jam. Wonderful.
- Meet Me In The Morning by Bob Dylan. From 1975’s wonderful Blood On The Tracks, we find his Royal Bobness in top form.
- The New Breed by Donald Fagen. Lovely tune from the Dan man’s 2012 solo album Sunken Condos.
- Rocket by Albert Hammond Jr. The Strokes man with a track from his fine 2008 record ¿Cómo Te Llama?
- Laughing by David Crosby. From his If I Could Only Remember My Name album, this features Graham Nash on backing vocals and Jerry Garcia on guitar. Made in 1971, which we all know was the greatest ever year for music.
That’s all, folks!
