Morning all.
Hope the world is all right by you today and just to keep your spirits high (!), let’s have the weekly music shuffle. Yes, 10 tunes from my collection, chosen not by me but at random by my musical device.
Why not click on the titles and sing along? Let’s rock!
- To The End by Blur. Fantastic start to the shuffle IMHO with this cracker from 1994’s Parklife.
- The Hustle by Pharcyde. Old skool hip hop from 1995’s Labincalifornia long player. Mint.
- Come And Get It by Toots Hibbert with Sly and Robbie. I could only find a small snippet of this Macca tune, originally recorded by Badfinger in 1969. It’s on the Art of McCartney long player, which is well worth getting.
- You’re The Only Woman by Ambrosia. Vintage yacht rock from the early 1980s. Really like this band.
- Once Again by Steve Lukather. From the Toto axeman’s fine 2013 solo record Transition.
- Downhill Ryder by Bad Company. Some filler from Bad Co’s not always killer 1982 LP Rough Diamonds. Even Paul Rodgers’ great vocals can’t really save it.
- Forever by Steve Ellis. One for the youngsters, here. Remember sixties band Love Affair? This was their brilliant lead singer, from his 2018 solo LP Boom! Bang! Twang!
- Sweet Hitch-Hiker by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Back to 1972, a single I bought pretty well the day it came out and played it to near death. Magnificent.
- A+E by Clean bandit featuring Kandake Moore and Nikki Cislyn. A proper belter. Such a good band, even if they did support Jeremy Corbyn.
- The Next Jet To Leave Moscow by Manic Street Preachers. Have they ever made a bad record? Of course not. From 2014’s Futurology.
Well, that’s all, folks. Hope you found something you liked.
This week’s Desert island Disc is the exciting number eight tune, Creedence’s Sweet Hitch-Hiker.
