On the most beautiful spring morning, what better to do than to set my iTunes library free and allow it to shuffle ten random tunes and then tell you what they were? Lots of things, I would imagine. Never mind, though.
So, here I am in my Man Cave, slurping finest coffee from Ethiopia (via Morrisons), listening to the music in the official Friday Music Shuffle. Accept no cheap substitutes!
Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends.
Spooky by Classics IV. Unquestionably the best version of this 1960s classic.
For Reasons Unknown by the Killers. As Brandon Flowers and his every changing band morph inexorably into a heritage stadium band, he’s a reminder of how good they sounded back in the day on their album Sam’s Town.
White Line Fever by Airbourne. The Aussie rockers with a tinnitus inducing tune from No Guts No Glory.
Lisztomania by Phoenix. A belter from the French Indie rockers. This is a highlight on their long player Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, an album full of highlights.
Wildflower by Sheryl Crow. Gorgeous.
Cocaine by Eric Clapton. A less than stellar cover of the JJ Cale classic from Slowhand, saved by his fret work.
T Shirt Suntan by the Stereophonics. I preferred Kelly Jones and the boys when they had a slightly harder edge, as in on this song from Performance and Cocktails.
Bubblegum by Confidence Man. More Aussie music by the excellent Confidence Man, from their great record Confident Music for Confident People.
Hash Pipe by Weezer. Classic, innit?
High Voltage (live) by AC/DC. As subtle as a breeze block, this is peak Johnson era AC/DC.
