The Corrs? The Bleeding Corrs? Yes. A proper drummer (Caroline) who would be at home in most rock bands, a fiddle player (Sharon), a conspiracy theory loon (Jim) and Andrea on lead vocals – that’s basically The Corrs. To my ears, their output has been mixed, veering between supermarket style muzak and, in two cases, magnificence. I managed to find a third song to bridge that gap. So here goes.
- Old Town. Many people are surprised to learn that this gorgeous song was written by Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott, but they shouldn’t be. He was a multitalented songwriter who left a golden musical legacy.
- Breathless. They properly rock, mind. I’ve chosen this live version but there are countless others.
- Radio. Light years behind the first two, this is still very good and easily their third best song. In my opinion, obvs.
What does your top three look like?
