I’ve been fully vaccinated since early in March 2021 and there’s the chance that I might not be here to tell the story if I hadn’t been. It was an incredibly tough decision to get the jab, though, what with all the conflicting information that’s out there. Should I believe every credible scientist and medic on the planet who said vaccines were safe and worked or the likes of Piers Corbyn, Right Said Fred and of course David Icke? I fretted about this for less than a millisecond before submitting myself to a procedure which would insert a microchip into my body enabling Bill Gates to watch me during my bathroom visits. If he has – and let’s be honest: he hasn’t – I hope he has enjoyed the experiences.
I jest, but only a bit. I’m probably not in the best physical shape of my life at the moment and I have chronic asthma, which is not the best condition to have when faced with a disease like Covid-19. And I’m grateful for any scientific assistance available to help ensure that I make it through today, tomorrow and the next few years, actually. I only wish that everyone who like me is not an epidemiologist or virologist would take the educated word of those who are and just have the vaccine.
I do know some people who have declined the life-saving jab, but those who have did so for a reason, the main one being their bodies don’t react too well with jabs of any kind. But in my previous professional life, I certainly came across people, mainly care workers, who were refusing to take vaccines. I cringed when they gave their reasons which were the usual reasons given by anti-vaxx loons. The vaccine was developed too quickly, we don’t know the long term effects and that it was an attempt by the deep state to insert – yes, you guessed it – to insert microchips into our blood stream for reasons that weren’t entirely clear.
Sadly, the outcomes for many people are tragic. Perfectly fit un-jabbed people now represent the majority of those being admitted to hospital with Covid. Younger people with the usual lack of underlying health conditions are filling our ICUs, getting ill and tragically dying. And the stories emerging in the media are heartbreaking.
I do feel sad but I also feel angry. Sad at unnecessary suffering and anger at people telling lies that bring about suffering and death. People getting ill with Covid are then getting their bodies filled with every drug doctors can find in order to save their lives. They’re getting very ill and endangering their family, friends and third parties like care workers and medics. How many more grieving relatives do we need to hear saying that their deceased loved ones wished they’d ignored Corbyn, Right Said Fred and Icke and taken the vaccine? In my eyes, the anti-vaxxers are no better than murderers.
As I say, I am palpably not an expert but I am content to listen to actual experts who keep me safer than I might otherwise be. As with so much else, it’s best to simply believe the truth. The alternative can be very dangerous to your health.
