If it wasn’t enough to have one music shuffle today, then here’s another; this one from my current wife.
Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends!
- Green Onions by Booker T and the MGs. Cracking start with this belter from – good grief – 1962.
- Virginia Plain by Roxy Music. Bryan and the boys with their first single. Starts and finishes with the singer’s voice. Unusual. “What’s her name?”
- Angel by Loyle Corner feat Tom Misch. Great track from Loyle’s exceptional 2019 Not Waving But Drowning record.
- In The City by the Jam. This is 42 bloody years old and it still sounds decent.
- Get Right Get Ready by Kula Shaker. From 2016’s excellent K 2.0, Mr Mills back on top form.
- We Are The People by Empire of the Sun. Magnificent by the magnificent Aussie duo.
- 2 Styx by Kula Shaker. More from K 2.0 and it’s jolly nice.
- Extra Kings by the Avalanches. More magnificent Aussies, this from their epic Since I Left You record.
- Junkie Slip by the Clash. From the brilliant Sandanista, here’s the boy Strummer and co.
- Superstylin’ by Groove Armada. Absolute classic.
That’s all, folks (and yes, it is better than my own shuffle for this week).
