I am absurdly knackered tonight. I know what you are thinking: that lucky sod, swanning round in a nice hotel in Greece, driving a hire car to some of the nicest places you could ever imagine, eating lovely food and, of course, drinking lovely beer. How the hell is HE knackered, you must be thinking?

Granted that Corfu is not the biggest island in the world, but I am cramming a ridiculous amount into six short days. Today, I ‘did’ the west coast including Pelekas and surrounding area, Paleokastritsa (briefly, during a cloudburst) and spent a long afternoon breathing in the atmosphere in Corfu Town and Kanoni. I paid a special visit to Corfu Golf Club which, had I bothered to check the website before I left, I shouldn’t have because it’s closed! I would suggest Ashton Court is in better condition at the moment.

I wondered why there was such a huge police presence in Corfu Town all day. Was it the threat from Al Queda or ISIS? Or maybe as a result of Sunday’s General Election? No, I found out when it was too late: Kerkyra were entertaining AEK Athens not two miles from my hotel and the Hellenic Top Boys were in town.

Tomorrow, it’s a trip to the north again, including Arillas again as well as a luncheon appointment in Roda, followed by coffee and god knows what else at Agni mid afternoon!

I’m going to need a holiday after all this.
