Have you heard of Jon Moulton? No, I thought not. But he’s the multimillionaire whose company, Better Capital, bought ‘City Link’ for a quid, promising to turn it round, and then put the firm into administration on Christmas Eve, leaving it to the workers’ trade union RMT to inform 2727 employees that they were losing their jobs. Happy fucking christmas, eh?
This is Tory Britain, aided, abetted and enabled by Nick Clegg, the principle-free chancer of the now discredited Liberal Democratic party where workers, hard working families as Cameron calls them, are dumped on by the fat cats.
And guess what? Who’d have believed it, but Jon Moulton is a Tory. And not only that, since 2004, he has given nearly half a million quid to the Tory party. And he wants Cameron to cut deeper and faster into public services and for poor people to pay the same rate of tax as the very rich. What a nice man.
So these poor ‘hardworking people’ who Dave loves so much have been shat on in the worst possible way at, pretty well unarguably, the worst possible time of the year.
Jon Moulton and his fellow rich travellers don’t give a shit about hardworking people. All they care about is the bottom line. How much money can I make? And that’s why they deliberately timed this announcement for Christmas Day. It’s the ultimate good day to bury bad news.
Tory/Liberal Business minister Vince Cable says he will be happy to talk to RMT in the New Year, so that’s all right then. Given his voting record since he joined this terrible Tory government, I am not expecting much. Old Vince always talks a good game and you get the impression he is not always entirely comfortable shafting the working man and woman. But he still votes for it. He can’t have a conscience because he plainly has no principles. No wonder we hate Liberals.
There will be more ‘City Link’ stories because we live in an age where the working man and woman doesn’t matter a shit. I suspect one day, there will be some anarchic rise against these evil people who are screwing us up and shafting ‘hardworking people.’
Mr Moulton just makes me very angry and you just know that he would not have the bottle to speak personally to all those people he has shafted.
