Good morning pop pickers, or should that be pop picker? Here’s this week’s random iPod shuffle.
1. Narrative between pictures by Brian Wilson. From That Lucky Old Sun, this track is what it says on the tin.
2. Dirty by Underworld. Classic Underworld.
3. Son of a rotten gambler by the Hollies. An Anne Murray cover from a Best of the Hollies compilation. And jolly nice it is too.
4. Where the bums go by Fun Lovin’ Criminals. Very rocky cut from the excellent Loco record.
5. Manhattan by the Kings of Leon. I find Only by the night a little hard work, but it’s decent enough.
6. Fight for your right by the Beastie Boys. Absolute all time classic from Licensed to Ill.
7. A Rock Star bucks a Coffee Shop by Neil Young. Neil Young whistling through this jolly jape from the Monsanto Years long player.
8. Stay With Me by Bob Dylan. On tip top form, his royal bobness from the Shadows in the night album.
9. Page 43 by Crosby and Nash. No Stills, no Young, not much Nash really. Lovely.
10. We’ve only just begun by the Carpenters. No apologies for this random iPod selection. Karen Carpenter had a voice to die for.
