That Friday Music Shuffle (22.2.19)

by Rick Johansen

Good grief, it’s Friday already. Where did that last seven days go? It’s time now for the Friday Music Shuffle where I set my extensive iTunes collection to shuffle and tell you, for no obvious reason, what the first ten songs were. Bored? You will be if you stick with this.

So, I’m in my Man Cave. Let’s rock!

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends.

  1. Love Sweet Sound by Groove Armada. This absolute beauty from the Soundboy Rock record features the wonderful Candi Staton.
  2. No Matter What You Do by Benny Benassi Presents the Biz. Some nice dance music from the Italian DJ chap.
  3. Superstar by the Temptations. Classic Motown.
  4. Academic by New Order. From their most recent album, 2015’s Music Complete, Bernard and co still producing the (very) goods.
  5. Love Action (I Believe In Love) by the Human League. From my favourite Human League album, The Best of Human League.
  6. Cowgirl by Underworld. Eight and a half minutes of excellence.
  7. That Old Flame by Don Henley feat. Martina McBride. The good Donald with a country-tinged tune from his Cass County record.
  8. The First Cut Is The Deepest by Cat Stevens. The best version of all by the man who wrote it.
  9. Luck Dragon by Crosby and Nash. Crosby in the lead here. Lovely.
  10. Ain’t 2 Proud 2 Beg by TLC. Nice!

That’s all, folks.
