At long last it’s Friday again and it’s time for the not-at-all-famous iPod music shuffle live from my man Cave.
So let’s plug the iPod in to my stack of speakers and see what emerges. Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends.
1. Niteklub by Talc. From their epic Sit Down Think album, this is Steely Dan music with British drinking themed lyrics. So brilliant and so, so funny.
2. I Am The Resurrection by the Stone Roses. Greatness.
3. Piazo E’ Perra by Los Amigos Invisibles. Everyone should have Arepa 3000 – a Venezuelan Journey into Space. Such great music.
4. She by the Monkees. Classic Monkees from their first album.
5. Burn the Witch by Radiohead. Absolutely superb tune from A Moon Shaped Pool.
6. Prophesy by Nitin Sawhney. The brilliant British Indian from…er…Rochester, Kent. Title track from the album, this.
7. Little Martha by the Allman Brothers Band. The only tune the great Duane Allman wrote for the Eat A Peach album, an acoustic gem also featuring Dickey Betts. Duane died a few weeks later.
8. Things by Bobby Darin. Such a talented artist, Darin died aged 37.
9. I’m Writing a Novel by Father John Misty. Wonderful tune from Fear Fun.
10. Doolin’ Dalton by the Eagles. Vintage Eagles, vintage Henley (and Frey) from the epic Desperado album.
That’s all, folks!
