Hi pop pickers and welcome to Friday 13th March’s Music Shuffle. Unlucky for some, perhaps, but hopefully not for all my millions of readers who I hope will enjoy this selection of music from my collection.
My device selects ten random songs and I tell you what it’s chosen. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to listen to each song by clicking on the title. It’s as simple as that.
I do hope you play along and find something you like.
- Under The Gun by Poco. Title track of the country rockers’ 1980 long player. Nice.
- White Light by Gorillaz. And now we go back to 2005 for a Gary Glitter-lite joint from the excellent Demon Days.
- Call Me by The Doobie Brothers. This one from the band’s excellent 2025 album Walk This Road.
- Let Nothing Come Between You by Warren Zevon. Much more to the late, great Warren Zevon than Werewolves of London. This from 2007’s The Envoy.
- Tombstone Shadow (Live) by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Banging bluesy rocker from their Live at The Albert Hall album of 1970.
- The Clouds Are Casting Shadows by the Besnard Lakes. Well, this is beautiful, from their superb 2025 LP The Besnard Lakes are the Ghost Nation.
- Hole In Your Soul (Live) by ABBA. From back in 1979/80 on their live tour. I loved the blonde one. Benny, wasn’t it?
- Vestavia Hills by Jason Isbell and the 40 Unit. Magnificent from his epic 2023 LP Weathervanes.
- If You See Her, Say Hello by Bob Dylan. More greatness, this from His Royal Bobness’s 1975 classic Blood On The Tracks.
- Thrill Me by Junior Jack. And finally, some top notch House. Mint.
What an eclectic mix that is. Apologies to Dylan fans out there but this week’s Desert Island Disc is Vestavia Hills by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit.
I loved that, hope you do too. Have a good week till next week.
