Hi pop pickers and welcome to this week’s fun-packed (!) music shuffle. Yes, here we go yet again as my music device selects ten random songs from my collection and I tell you what it’s chosen. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to click on the song title and listen and even sing along.
Without further ado, let’s rock!
- America The Beautiful by Frank Sinatra. I don’t think I’ve ever said, “And now we go back to 1945” on the music shuffle but here we are, thanks to Ol’ Blue Eyes.
- The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts by Sufjan Stevens. More recent musical beauty from 2005 this time, from the excellent long player Illinois.
- Between Dreams by Poolside. Beautiful stuff. Make sure you check out their stupendously wonderful 2012 album Pacific Standard Time.
- Beautiful Daughter by The Move. Genius from the pen of Roy Wood, which gives a few hints of ELO to come. From 1970’s excellent Shazam LP.
- Six Feet Of Snow by Little Feat. The last Feat album Lowell George appeared on, 1979’s Down On The Farm. Such a lovely countrified tune, this.
- Daylight by RAMP. Back to 1977 for some old skool R&B. So good.
- Childhood by Barry Can’t Swim. Barry is an absolute fucking genius. This from 2025’s Loner LP.
- A Fallen Star by Jim Reeves. I had absolutely no idea I had this record, which must be on a compilation album of some sort. It’s rather nice, actually. And it was released in 1960.
- Pearly Gates by Prefab Sprout. This is so lovely, from 1989’s Protest Songs.
- Echoes Of Love by The Doobie Brothers. Michael McDonald era Doobies with this joint from 1977’s Livin’ On The Fault Line.
This week’s Desert Island Disc is Six Feet Of Snow by Little Feat.
Hope you found something you like. Have a good week till next week!
