Sunshine greetings to my loyal reader as we head yet again into yet another fun-packed music shuffle.
Yes, it’s that exciting time of the week when I set my music machine free and it chooses ten random songs from my collection. Then, as per usual, I tell you what it has chosen. Just click on the title in order to listen along.
I hope you find something you like.
- Life’s Too Short by Lucy Rose. Lovely wee tune from the singer-songwriter’s 2024 long player ‘This Ain’t The Way You Go Out‘.
- Mull Of Kintyre by Paul McCartney and Wings. I can forgive Macca almost anything, even this.
- I Was Made To Love Her by Stevie Wonder. Classic Stevie from 1967.
- Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys. Instrumental title track from Brian Wilson’s 1966 classic.
- I Don’t Wanna Be A Soldier Mama by John Lennon. Another classic track, this time from Imagine. 1971 was rock’s greatest year.
- I’m Tight by Louis Cole. The supremely talented Mr Cole from 2022’s “Quality Over Opinion” LP. Excellent.
- Ur Mixtape by Metronomy. 2019’s Metronomy Forever was a lush record. Here’s why.
- Carry On by Crosby, Stills and Nash. Back to 1970 for this absolute classic.
- Say It Ain’t So by Weezer. Blimey – 1994 and it still sounds great.
This week’s Desert Island Disc is short and sweet: Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys.
Well, I enjoyed that. See you next week. TTFN.
