Welcome, my friends, to my Friday Music Shuffle.
What happens is that my music device selects ten random songs from my collection and I tell you what it’s chosen. Then, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to click on the title and listen to the music, as the Doobie Brothers put it so aptly at their gig in Birmingham last night.
I hope you find something you like.
- Glamorous by Fergie feat. Ludacris. Back to 2006 for this banger from Fergie’s long player The Dutchess. Nice.
- String Theory by Lanterns On The Lake. Excellent track form their 2023 album Versions Of Us.
- Living For The Weekend by Sugababes. A live track from a Radio 1 show back in 2006. Really like this.
- Truth by Jungle. Absolute banger from their excellent 2021 album Loving In Stereo.
- Place To Be by Nick Drake. Pure beauty from Drake’s magnificent Pink Moon from 1972.
- South Australia by Fisherman’s Friends. Well, it’s perfect from Port Isaac’s finest.
- Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? by The Shirelles. A classic from 1960, penned by the great Carole King and Gerry Goffin.
- Wild Thing by The Troggs. Absolute classic by Andover’s finest band, going back to the year of our lord 1966.
- King Of The Hill by Bruce Hornsby. Great joint from the great man’s 1998 album Spirit Trail. Anyone else think the album cover has a photo of David Miliband on it?
- Makin’ Love by Poco. And finally, back to 1975 and a lovely tune by Timothy B Schmit’s main band before he joined The Eagles. Nice. From the Head Over Heels record.
Well, that was fun. This week’s Desert Island Disc is King Of The Hill by Bruce Hornsby.
Have a good week till next week.
