Hi everyone and welcome to the Friday Music Shuffle.
Here my music device selects ten random songs from my collection and I tell you what’s it’s chosen. Click on the link on each song title to activate YouTube and listen along with me.
I hope you find something you like.
- Look In Their Eyes by David Crosby. Late in life, Croz hit a rich vein of form, recording a stunning run of excellent albums, including 2016’s Lighthouse, from which this beauty comes.
- Genie’s Open by Animal Collective. And now it’s back to 2023 for some brilliant experimental electronica, with added Panda Bear on vocals. I love this band. The album is called Isn’t It Now.
- The Angel by Bruce Springsteen. Back to 1973 and a cracker of a song from Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.
- Penrose by North Atlantic Oscillation. Quality prog and electronica from one of Scotland’s finest bands. This from 2014’s The Third Day.
- Kiss N Tell by Confidence Man. 54 lovely seconds from the Aussie duo. Nice. This is from 2022’s excellent album Tilt.
- Making Memories by Rush. Lovely joint from my favourite Rush LP, 1975’s Fly By Night.
- Electric Guitars by Prefab Sprout. Oh my, this is gorgeous, but did you expect anything other than gorgeous from Paddy McAloon’s band? This belter was on 1997’s Andromeda Heights long player.
- K2 by Liquid Mike. An excellent rocker from 2024’s Paul Bunyan’s Slingshot. Love this.
- No Time To Lose by Lindisfarne. Bit of a rarity, a bonus track on the remastered Fog On The Tyne, first released in 1971.
- The Depression by Bruce Springsteen. Self-explanatory title by the Boss from his 2012 album Wrecking Ball.
This week’s Desert Island Disc is the exciting number seven song Electric Guitars by Prefab Sprout.
Hope you enjoyed that. I did. Have a good week till next week.
