That Friday iPod shuffle (21.9.18)

by Rick Johansen

Did you miss me, yeah, while I was away, did you hang my picture on your wall, as Gary Glitter put it on his 1970s hit record Hello, Hello, I’m Back Again? I didn’t think so. Never mind. Two weeks in Portugal with non existent wifi felt like too much trouble to allow my geriatric iPod to shuffle away to its heart’s content, but in darkest, deepest midwinter it’s time to do some random shuffling.

Welcome back, my friend, to the show that never ends!

1. Afraid of Love by Toto. Oh yes, a cracker of a rocker from their brilliant album Toto IV.

2. Love the One You’re With by Crosby, Stills and Nash. Classic.

3. Susie Q by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Vintage Fogerty, here.

4. One Way Or Another by Blondie. The divine Miss H.

5. Adouma by Santana. Recent Carlos music from his excellent Shamen long player.

6. Aero Dynamik by Kraftwerk. From their wonderful live album Maximum Minimum, I mean this is just great.

7. Hypnotized by Ryan Adams. Classic rocker from the album Rock n Roll. 15 years old FFS.

8. Accelerator by Primal Scream. Well, it’s great, isn’t it?

9. Heaven by DJ Sammy and Yanou. Gushing version of Bryan Adams’ romantic plodder sung by Do.

10. Welcome to the Machine by Pink Floyd. Slightly bonkers Floyd from Wish You Were Here.

That’s all, folks.
