News of the death of my beloved sister-in-law, Jenifer Darbellay, in Vancouver last Saturday night has finally made it to the gutter press here in the UK. I was made aware of, and have now seen, a large article, replete with numerous photographs in the Daily Mail. I regard the Daily Mail as the dregs of the British media, an odious rag that preys on people’s fears and prejudices and deliberately stokes up hatred and division.
I do not question their right to the publish the story given that numerous media outlets worldwide have done the same. But the Mail’s so called values are not the same in which my family believes, those of love, kindness and generosity and I want nothing to do with it.
