Luckily, this minor website, viewed by a few hundred people on a good day, will not give much in the way of the oxygen of publicity to Sun columnist Katie Hopkins, but I am going to write about her again. It would be silly to suggest that she has, once again, overstepped the mark, but her type of journalism is way deeper than the sewer, never mind the gutter.
I have not read her piece on migrants, just extensive reports in other organs, but in it she refers to the crisis in the Mediterranean where today some 40 people drowned off Sicily. Hopkins said that migrants were “feral humans” and “cockroaches” who are “spreading like norovirus. The vagrants making the perilous trip across the Med should be warded off with gunships.
“I don’t care. Show me pictures of coffins, show me bodies floating in water, play violins and show me skinny people looking sad. I don’t care.”
Before we get too angry – and it’s very difficult not to be angry, reading stuff that you might think even Nigel Farage might think twice about saying – but just remember where Hopkins is coming from. Whether her outrageous bigotry is genuine or not, and I don’t care whether it is genuine, because it doesn’t change what she has written; it sells newspapers. Or rather, it sells copies of The Sun. It must do, otherwise Murdoch’s tawdry rag wouldn’t employ her.
The Sun is, of course, a huge supporter of the Conservative Party, especially since Labour leader Ed Miliband had the temerity to question the phone-hacking scumbags who messed with the lives of Milly Dowler’s parents and countless other people they didn’t like. If your principles really are that low, then employing Hopkins and re-employing Kelvin MacKenzie, the liar over Hillsborough, then The Sun really is for you.
Hopkins’ beloved Tory party is led by David Cameron, a politician so insubstantial, he won’t even engage in public debate with other politicians, because his minders know he is a lightweight, untroubled by detail. But here’s the thing. Not that long ago, Cameron was addressing the people of Libya following the fall of Gadaffi. He was the Libyan’s people’s toff, cheered as the conquering hero. Now Libya lies in ruins with islamic fascists plundering the country, forcing hundreds of thousands of people to leave the country. Yes. the “feral humans” and “cockroaches” from Hopkins’ world.
But the silly cow asks to be shown the coffins of the poor, desperate victims of islamic fascism and she doesn’t care. She doesn’t fucking care. She lost me at that point and I will leave her future columns literally in the right hands of the masturbating Sun readers, mortified at the end of Page Three but at least finding something and someone to get off on. And if Sun readers really do get off on Hopkins, I will personally buy their tissues.
Hopkins is a wonderful example of what Rupert Murdoch has done to this country. She is a hateful, bullying shyster who has promised to leave the country if Labour wins on May 7th. Here’s another reason to vote Labour.
