Good Friday iPod shuffle

by Rick Johansen

Good grief, Good Friday, Good iPod shuffle?

1. Listen to the music by Neon Lights. I know nothing whatsoever about Neon Lights. This little gem comes from a compilation album called The Big Chill.

2. Keep on growing by Derek and the Dominos. Obviously from Layla and other assorted love songs, my favourite Slowhand record ever.

3. Everybody dance by Chic. Well, it’s Nile innit?

4. Life on the nickel by Foster the People. Joyous, just joyous.

5. Angel by Shaggy. Orville Burrell on top form.

6. A swingin’ safari by Burt Kaempfert and his orchestra. Seriously, I love it. And you’ll know it too!

7. The Boatman by Nitin Sawhney. Astonishingly wonderful from the Human album.

8. Run to me by the Bee Gees. Good shuffle, this.

9. Welcome to the jungle by Guns N’Roses. The greatest introduction to a tune, ever.

10. Armed and dangerous by Airbourne. As someone jokingly put it, Airbourne are Australia’s AC/DC.

That’s it, folks!
