Today, it was as if we had passed through the looking glass. Not just Alice, but all of us. Nothing was as it seemed. The world had turned upside down, inside out and nothing was at it should have been. An asylum seeker, or as I would like to refer to him or her a human being, had been found dead on Sue-Ellen Braverman’s prison ship off Dorset. Multiple sources said the person had committed suicide. On the same day, the government was plotting to send a handful of asylum seekers to Rwanda by making a law that said Rwanda was safe, even though it wasn’t. Rishi Sunak and his dim-witted home secretary James Cleverly were laughing and joking on the government front bench. Well, it was only a foreigner, wasn’t it? And we had too many of them.
The human being who was seeking asylum from we know not what or where from, but it is likely it was life-threatening and probably a dictatorship, like, oh I don’t know, Rwanda, maybe?
Cleverly had earlier explained the problem. “It’s not just Johnny Foreigner’s courts, but ours. All those woke, lefty lawyers and as for the judges upholding the law.” But he added that the government respects court judgments “even when we disagree with them,” muttering quietly under his breath, “Do we fuck.” But never let it be said that the government doesn’t have a heart.
The death would be investigated “fully” said Cleverly. Not partly, mind. Fully. “The thoughts of the whole House, like mine, are with those affected“, he added, trying to keep a straight face.
Of course, we all know what this is about. Migrants are the wrong colour. And that’s what Sunak, Cleverly, Braverman, Priti Patel, KamiKwasi Kwarteng, Nadhim Zahawi and the rest of the Tory party is angry about. I’m guessing that if they were black or brown, it wouldn’t be a problem. Joking aside, it’s the sons and daughters of Johnny Foreigner attacking Johnny Foreigner. This is some looking glass.
While the country goes to hell in a handcart, this is all they care about. Having reduced the immigration service to rubble, they blame the people affected by it. And if they break international law in sending a few people to Rwanda, so be it.
The party of Winston Churchill reduced to this. Incompetent, law-breaking liars, led by a pampered, privileged, entitled prick without a principle or a conscience.
RIP the human being today. Someone’s son or daughter, in the wrong place at the wrong time who to this government is just a number. And an unwanted number at that.
