Something very strange is beginning to happen. More people than ever are reading this blog. Since my technical department installed a plug-in that records the number of visitors to Eclectic Blue, back in 2014, the stats have been steady. Not earth-shattering, but then I never expected them to be. But suddenly, without warning my readership numbers have ballooned to the extent that February 2026 has been the second best month ever. And get this: as I write it’s only 4th February 2026.
If you’re a long-serving, long-suffering reader, thank you for sticking with me. You could have done something so much more rewarding with your time but you chose instead to read my work. And to those of you joining us, welcome along.
I’m afraid, there is no facility to leave comments. It’s not that I’m a snowflake that I can’t take criticism and even ridicule. It’s just that the last time I did allow comments, it all got rather nasty. It’s the way of the world, I’m afraid, with people getting off on being rude and unpleasant deep in cyberspace. Well, not on my blog.
I don’t pretend to be right on everything or even anything. It’s just how I feel on any given day. If you disagree, you may well be right to. But let’s stay friends, eh?
I don’t make money out the blog, apart from the kind coffee donations people make, some regularly and some occasionally. I really appreciate it. I use the proceeds entirely on making my writing better in all manner of ways.
Writing is what I love to do. I don’t pretend to be any good at it – that’s for you, my loyal reader to judge – but I do my best. In many ways, writing is what I live for.
Once again, thanks for reading. You make a happy man very old, or something like that.
