Greetings pop-pickers and welcome to my weekly music shuffle.
Courtesy of my music machine, we’re going to have a random tour of my collection, listening to the ten songs it selects. I’ll write down what it chooses and all you have to do is click on the title and the magic will begin.
As ever, I hope you find something you like.
- Englishman in New York by Sting. Back to 1987 for this cute wee ditty from Mr Sumner.
- Service Station At The End Of The Universe by Antony Szmierek. Title track of his brilliant 2025 album.
- Song 2 (Live) by Blur. Live at Wembley, just two short years ago. Superb.
- At Night by Shakedown. 2002 for this banging House classic.
- 99 by Toto. Great track from 1979’s stellar Hydra long player.
- Feed Me by Foster The People. Really love this band. This from 2024’s Paradise State Of Mind.
- All Together Now by The Farm. A decent tune from a decent band. This one goes back to 1990.
- Don’t Wait by Say She She. Brilliant, from 2022’s Prism.
- Security Joan by Donald Fagen. 2006’s Morph The Cat was not exactly vintage Fagen/Steely Dan, but it’s still better than anything anyone else can come up with.
- Show You The Way by Thundercat Feat. Flying Lotus, Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins. Some great names on this record and they don’t let you down. Fantastic.
This week’s Desert Island Disc is the exciting number ten song, Show You The Way by Thundercat Feat. Flying Lotus, Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins.
Hope you enjoyed that. Have a good week till next week.
