Sunshine greetings and welcome to the Friday Music Shuffle. Yes, it’s that time of the week when I dust off my music device and set it free to play ten random songs from my collection which I tell you about on here. Your only role in this is to click on the song title and listen, and even sing, along.
Why not play along and maybe you will find something you like? Come on board and join the music fun bus.
- I’m In Great Shape by The Beach Boys. Short and very bonkers little ditty from the epic-ish Smile! album.
- Love Is The Answer by England Dan and Jord Ford Coley. Rather lovely cover of the Todd Rundgren classic from 1979 by the amiable yacht rockers.
- Klemperer Walks by Thom Yorke. I love Thom’s cinematic expeditions, few better than 2018’s Suspiria.
- İsyan Manifestosu by Gaye Su Akyol. Title track of the brilliant Turkish superstar’s album from 2020.
- Signs by Jordan Rakei. A banger from the super-talented blue eye soul singer from back in 2020.
- Comme Si by Christine and the Queens. Chris is a he now, but who cares? High quality music by anyone’s standards. This from 2018.
- You Don’t Know by Loyle Carner Feat. Rebel Kleff and Kiko Bun. Well, this is excellent, from Loyle’s 2019 wonderful LP Not Waving But Drawning.
- Courage by Todd Rundgren. Of course’s it’s great. From the great man’s 2008 album Arena.
- The Cruel Sea by The Dakotas. From 1963, this is the band who went on to back Billy J. Kramer. I rather like it.
- Keep It Tight by Girl Ray. Nice little tune from 2019’s Girl long player.
That’s some shuffle, right? My Desert Island Disc for this week is Courage by Todd Rundgren. If there was a God, Todd would be God.
Have a good week till next week.
