For those of you not paying attention, it’s Friday again and that can only mean one thing: it’s time for my random iPod music shuffle. But hang on. What kind of stupid comment is that? It can only mean one thing? Christ, it can mean millions of things, including for me. Regardless of that, I am back in my Man Cave to set the geriatric iPod free, to get it play some random tunes which I will then bore you with.
Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends.
- Indian Times by Misdemeanor. The sheer genius of the late, great Kevin McFadden, leader of Bristol’s finest band.
- Man of Mystery by the Shadows. The criminally underrated Hank Marvin in action.
- Fire by Bruce Springsteen. Brilliant, from The Promise long player.
- God Said by Todd Rundgren. In which Todd articulates his atheism. From his Liars record. You should buy it.
- On a Clear Day You Can See Forever by the Peddlers. When I was a lad this trio were always on the telly. Some nice smooth jazz.
- Morning Beat by Brian Wilson. Sadly, a real duffer from his relatively recent That Lucky Old Sun record and soon to be deleted from the iPod. Retire, Brian.
- Rock Love by Todd Rundgren. From his excellent ‘Live – nearly human’ album. You can never get too much Todd.
- The Lies in your Eyes by the Sweet. So good, but why did they always have the guitars so low in the mix? These guys could really rock.
- Witchy Woman by the Eagles. Jesus – 1972. This was the follow up to Take It Easy form their first record The Eagles. I fell in love with Don Henley’s voice after hearing this.
- Papa’s Got A Brand New Pigbag by Pigbag. A banger from 100 years ago.
That’s all, folks!
