That Friday Music Shuffle a day early (18/10/18)

Comments Off on That Friday Music Shuffle a day early (18/10/18) 18 October 2018

Yes, it’s not time for the Friday music free-for-all you haven’t been waiting for. However, due to entirely foreseen circumstances this week’s shuffle is a day early.

So, now, the old iPod is set to shuffle once again, it’s linked up to a bank of imaginary Marshall speakers in my Man Cave and it’s going to play ten tunes at random.

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends.

  1. Cheek to Cheek (live) by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Yes, that old Fred Astaire classic by dear old Alex, always as mad as a box of frogs.
  2. Guiltiness by Bob Marley and the Wailers. From the mighty Exodus record. Genius.
  3. Limelight by Rush. From the Time Machine live album, more top notch rock from the Canadian chaps.
  4. The Ghost of Tom Joad by Bruce Springsteen. One of his great songs from one of his great albums. Simply magnificent.
  5. You Are the Sunshine of my Life by Frank Sinatra. I love the song and I love Old Blue Eyes but not together!
  6. Hitsville UK by the Clash. From the mighty Sandinista long player. Perfect.
  7. Love TKO by Hall and Oates. Brilliant blue-eye soul from their Our Kind of Soul LP.
  8. Secret World by Tears for Fears. The boys were well into the long decline by the time they made their most recent album Everybody Loves A Happy Ending. There are two or three good tunes on it but this dud, which sounds more like a Take That out take, isn’t one of them.
  9. Heroes and Villains (live) by the Beach Boys. Nice version.
  10. Pouring Rain by Joe Strummer. Fantastic.

That’s all, folks.
