Hello, hello, it’s good to be back, good to be back. Yes, it’s Friday again, I think, and time for the weekly music shuffle where my musical device plays ten songs at random and I tell you what they are. I’m good to go, so let’s rock!
- Walk On By by Thundercat feat Kendrick Lamar. Great collaboration from the former’s album, Drunk.
- Elected by Alice Cooper. The follow up, as I recall, to Alice’s School’s Out. Mint.
- Blue Moanin’ by Bachman Turner Overdrive. Bluesy rocker from the Canadian heavyweights’ Not Fragile long player.
- Will It Go Round In Circles by Billy Preston. The late, great Billy Preston played electric piano on the Beatles brief rooftop gig and appeared on Abbey Road, particularly on Something. This is my favourite of his tunes.
- Double Trouble by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Classic Skynyrd featuring the original line up. No one rocked like they did.
- Dopeman by NWA. Bona fide genius from Straight Outta Compton. As relevant as ever.
- I Shall Believe by Sheryl Crow. From Ms Crow’s finest album, 1993’s Tuesday Night Music Club.
- Dreadlock Holiday by 10cc. Minus Godley and Creme, I had long lost interest in the band, although this 1978 tune briefly reactivated my interest.
- Beverly Hills by Weezer. Rivers and co back on top form with this singalong thumper from the Make Believe record.
- Dreamin’ by Weezer. Unusual to have two tunes in a row from the same artist, but from their Red Album, here they are!
That’s all, folks!
