THAT FRIDAY MUSIC SHUFFLE (4.1.19) PART 2

by Rick Johansen
Part Deux

As threatened – sorry, promised – here’s the second ego-driven music shuffle of the day, live from my Man Cave here in the village. The iPod, almost on its last legs, gives us ten more tunes for the weekend.

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends!

  1. Sink Like A Stone by the Delays. Thoughts still with the wonderful Greg Gilbert as he continues to fight cancer, this is a gorgeous track from Bournemouth’s Delays You See Colours album. Let it wash all over you.
  2. Chevrolet by ZZ Top. From the magnificent Rio Grande Mud long player. Proper bluesy rock.
  3. Everybody’s Talkin’ by Harry Nilsson. That song from Midnight Cowboy, written by the great Fred Neil. Over 50 years old now, mind. What a tune.
  4. I Love To Watch A Woman Dance by the Eagles. Filler from their final album Long Road out of Eden.
  5. I’m Going’ Down by Bruce Springsteen. Classic Boss from Born in the USA.
  6. The Spider by Weezer. Only Rivers Cuomo’s voice gives away the fact that this slow ballad is actually Weezer. Loves it, I do.
  7. Could Be Love by the Dwight Twilley Band. One of my favourite bands of all time who obviously never made it.
  8. What Had Happened by Fun Loving’ Criminals. From 2003’s Welcome to Poppy’s. Well, it’s Huey, innit?
  9. No Face, No Name, No Number by Traffic. Vintage Stevie Winwood form back in the day.
  10. Back on the Bottle by Airbourne. The Aussie rockers who permanently damaged my left ear at a gig about a decade ago. Every time I try to sleep I think about them.

That’s all, folks!
