Hi pop pickers and welcome to the weekly Music Shuffle. 10 songs from my collection, chosen at random by my music device (phone) and I tell you what it’s chosen. Just click on the song title to oh oh listen to the music and, if you are in the mood, why not sing along?
I hope you find something you like.
- Creep Motel by Steve Lukather. In 2013, the legendary Toto axeman made his best solo record, Transition. Cracking rock and roll music.
- The Lee Shore by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. A beautiful Croz tune from over half a century ago.
- Kittens by Underworld. Banger from 1999’s Beaucoup Fish LP.
- Three Women by Stereolab. Back to 2008 and a classy joint from Chemical Chords.
- You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You go by Bob Dylan. From his great, if not greatest, album Blood On The Tracks.
- Across The Universe by David Bowie. Here we are in 1975 with a Beatles cover from my favourite Bowie LP, Young Americans. Features one John Lennon on guitar.
- Evil Woman by The Doobie Brothers. Speaking of favourite albums, here’s a belter from the Doobies’ best album, 1973’s The Captain And Me.
- People On The High Line by New Order Feat. Elly Jackson. Quality tune from 2015’s excellent Music Complete album.
- Leave Me Alone by Shaggy. Typical Orville Burrell (Shaggy) from 2002’s Lucky Day.
- 04. Ninth Symphony Second Movement (Ludwig van Beethoven) by Wendy Carlos. Yes, from the score of Clockwork Orange. Brilliant.
A tough call for this week’s Desert Island Disc. With apologies to his Royal Bobness, it’s The Lee Shore by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
Have a good week till next week.
