Let’s be honest: things are a bit shit at the moment. I won’t bore you with the details but I do think what the world needs now is love sweet love, and probably not yet another Music Shuffle, compiled at random from my portable mobile phone computer. Ten songs in my Man Cave, at random. It’s that simple (and dull)
Movin’ Backwards by A Tribe Called Quest. From their final album, released in 2016, ‘WeGot It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service’. The brilliant Anderson Paak sings on this song.
Perfect Gentleman by Wyclef Jean Feat. Hope Harris. From the great man’s album The Ecleftic. Love it.
Barometer Soup by Jimmy Buffett. Jimmy recorded this jolly record at Key West, but also has a major Caribbean influence with steel drums prevalent on this track. Pour me another cocktail, please.
Journey of the Sorcerer by the Eagles. This instrumental, written by Bernie Leadon, from the 1975 One of the Nights album, became the theme to Douglas Adams’ Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy on Radio Four.
I Just Wanna Know by Taio Cruz. Quality R&B from the talented Englishman.
Transit Fantastic by Danny Breaks. Lovely, dreamy electronica, here.
There Is Only Love by Zervas and Pepper. Lovely folk rock from Cardiff’s finest folk rockers and their 2019 long player Endless Road Restless Nomad.
Love Generation by Bob Sinclair Feat. Gary “Nesta” Pine. You will know this song the second you play it on You Tube. An irritating although quite fun ear worm.
Some Kind Of Nothingness by the Manic Street Preachers. Up to their usual excellent high standard from the Postcards from a Young Man album. Wonderful.
My Guy by Mary Wilson. All time Motown classic. Musical perfection.
