Good day and welcome to the Friday Music Shuffle.
Every week, I set my music device free and it selects ten random songs from my collection. Then, for no obvious reason, I tell you, my loyal reader, what it’s chosen.
You can play your part my clicking on each song title and listening and, I hope, singing along to the music.
I hope you find something you like.
- Carry On/Questions by Crosby, Stills and Nash. The 2012 live, and best, version IMHO. I simply love this.
- Find A Way by Say She She. 2023’s album Silver should really be called Gold. It’s wonderful, as are the band.
- Pay In Blood by Bob Dylan. From 2012’s fine LP Tempest, here’s His Royal Bobness.
- Out There by Iglu and Hartley. Their star shone brightly and briefly and I recall seeing them in Bristol’s Thekla around 2009 and saying: They will go far. They didn’t, but this is nice.
- Boots of Spanish Leather by Bob Dylan. Bob again with a joint from 1964’s The Times They Are A-Changing album. Classic.
- Chicago by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Some welcome recurring artists this week. This version of the Nash song is from 1972’s live album 4 Way Street.
- Invisible by Modest Mouse. Lovely joint from 2007’s excellent We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, featuring throughout one Johnny Marr.
- Red Cortina by The Saw Doctors. Great band. This one comes from the brilliant and brilliantly titled 1991 album If This Is Rock and Roll, I Want My Old Job Back.
- Don’t Let The Blues Get You Down by Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Bit of a dud from 1975’s otherwise excellent LP Four Wheel Drive.
- Mr. Sellack by The Roches. I’m rather fond of this band. This is from their 1979 album called, very originally, The Roches.
This week’s Desert Island Disc is Carry On/Questions by Crosby, Stills and Nash.Â
Hope you enjoyed that. Have a good week till next week!
