Welcome my friends to the show that never ends. Yes, it’s time for that Friday Music Shuffle.
My music device chooses ten songs from my collection and I tell you what it’s chosen. You can join in the ‘fun’ by clicking on the song title to listen and, if you feel so inclined, sing along.
I hope you find something you like.
- You Are Here by Real Estate. Lovely track from this year’s new album Daniel.
- Paper Dogs by Westerman. Some lush music from Ben Westerman’s first album, Your Hero’s Not Dead, released in 2020.
- Snakes On Everything by Little Feat. Back to 1971 and the opening track from Little Feat’s eponymously titled first album.
- A Song For Barcelona by Jackson Browne. Gorgeous joint from 2021’s Downhill From Everywhere.
- Breed by Nirvana. Great stuff from 1991’s epic Nevermind.
- Everytime by Lustral (Nalin and Kane Remix 1997). Banging House from, well, 1997, obvs.
- Gimme Your Money Please by Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Some filler from the otherwise very decent eponymously titled BTO album from 1973.
- Is This Music? by Teenage Fanclub. Yes, it is and very (instrumental) good music it is too, from 2018’s Bandwagonesque.
- Please Save Me by Sunscreem Vs. Push. Some lush Trance, here, from 2001.
- Locomotion by John Coltrane. This is from Coltrane’s classic Blue Train LP from 1957. Wonderful.
This week’s Desert island Disc is Locomotion by John Coltrane.
Thanks for listening. Have a good week till next week.
