Having finished work for the month, it’s time to sit back and enjoy some music and then tell you about it. Live from my Man Cave, here are ten tunes chosen at random from my iTune library.

Hope you like them!

  1. Walking a Vanishing Line by Jason and the Scorchers. From their mighty album Clear impetuous Morning, Mr Ringenberg and his pals belt out some high quality country-tinged rock.
  2. The Faith Healer by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. This is a live session from the Old Grey Whistle Test, introduced by Whispering Bob Harris. They could certainly cut it live.
  3. Josie by Steely Dan. A live version of the great tune from Aja, my favourite album by anyone ever. This comes from their Alive In America record.
  4. Mount Everest by Teenage Fan Club. From their excellent album Songs From Northern Britain, TFC are one of the most underrated bands on the planet.
  5. Silence (Airscape Mix) by Delerium. Classic trance from 20 years ago.
  6. Gypsy Bike by Bruce Springsteen. Unmistakably the Boss from the aptly titled Magic LP.
  7. Mirrors by the Blue Oyster Cult. From the Mirrors album, the classic line-up employs female backing vocals, which kind of works. Great tune.
  8. Ain’t No Sunshine by Michael Jackson. The Bill Withers classic from Jackson’s Got To Be There album, which includes not a single song written by Wacko Jacko, probably because he was 13 when the album was recorded.
  9. Rock and Roll Crook by Nils Lofgren. The supremely talented Nils in pre E Street Band music.
  10. Guardian Angel by the Stills/ Young Band. From the 1976 album Long May You Run, this is such a great Stills tune.

That’s all, folks!
