I’m still waiting

by Rick Johansen

So, what didn’t happen this week? Well, I didn’t get a reply from Red Cross CEO Mike Adamson (salary circa £170k per annum) about the bullying and abuse I received from his staff when I was employed by that well known humanitarian organisation, which prides itself on the slogan “refusing to ignore people in crisis”. Perhaps that doesn’t include people being bullied or abused?

Perhaps Mike is a little busy, what with all those lucrative jollies he attends all over the place, or perhaps he has delegated my correspondence to one of the other seven UK Red Cross employees who trouser in excess of £100k? Or perhaps he hopes by pretending he never had my letters, it will all go away? I’ve got some very bad news for him if that’s what he thinks.

I have not taken legal action against the Red Cross, nor sued them for constructive dismissal. I was too ill to even contemplate so doing after suffering a breakdown as a direct result of the treatment I suffered. However, I do want a full, unqualified apology, not least so that no one else has to go through what I had to put up with.

The Red Cross follows me on twitter – I am not making this up – so they will read this. I am closer than ever to really going public with all this stuff, names and all, if they don’t get on with it. Some very bad people made me very ill and as I gradually recover and get stronger, I am closer to being able to take them on.

So, Mike: if you’re watching, please do me the courtesy of replying with – here come those words again – a full, unqualified apology. Because this is not going away.
